*Executive/Professional MBA students and UM employees are ineligble to participate in the Monthly Payment Plan.

*IMPORTANT REMINDER: Payment Plan installments are deducted automatically. To make online payments towards your payment plan, go to your account inquiry and click on the "Payment Plan" button.


The Monthly Payment Plan (MPP) allows you to divide your educational expenses into convenient monthly payments per semester.

Enrollment in the plan does represent a contractual agreement with the University. Proxies will be able to establish a monthly payment plan on behalf of the student if they are a fully authorized designated proxy on Canelink. Once the student is enrolled in the plan they cannot cancel out of the plan. This process can be completed on the student’s Canelink account by clicking on the “payment plan” button. The MPP features are:

  • Ability to include prior balances on the payment plan.
  • Ability to add additional charges after a payment plan has been processed. The payment plan will be rebalanced to include such charges.
  • Automatic payments are scheduled and automatically deducted each month.
  • Selection of Payment Options, you can select between a checking account, savings account or credit card payment options.
  • Advanced notification via email of impending payment installment withdrawal
  • 24 hours of accessibility to your payment plan via Canelink and mobile access. It is convenient and easy to enroll and manage your payment plan.

MPP Rules:

  • Monthly Auto payment is deducted each month on the same day
  • Monthly Auto Payment Reminder – 5 days prior
  • Total Balance Due
  • ACH Insufficient Funds Return - $25 Servicer Fee (non refundable)
  • Missed Installment – Next Installment Doubled
  • ACH Return Reattempts – 1
  • No Reattempts for declined credit card payment
  • The 2.5 % credit card service fee is non refundable
  • Number of Missed Installments before termination – 2
  • There is a 3% Non-refundable Participation Fee to enroll in the payment plan

The Charges Due in Canelink will reflect until the payment plan has been paid in full. The balance will go down as the payments are applied monthly. If additional charges are added or a credit is applied, the change will be reflected accordingly.
